This twin, fixed/recessed induction hob from Sterling Power is the ideal solution for off-grid cooking with an inverter connected to a 12V battery. Designed for permanent installation, its compact, low-profile form makes it easy to mount in a worktop, while offering fast, responsive control across 9 power levels and a powerful 2800W maximum heat output.

The touch controls, conveniently located at the front of the unit, allow seamless operation of power settings, timer with alarm, and hob selection between the front and rear cooking zones. The front hob delivers up to 1800W, with the rear hob offering up to 1200W, sharing power intelligently to maximise performance without exceeding the combined 2800W limit.

By generating heat directly within the cookware, this induction hob is far more energy-efficient than conventional electric or gas alternatives. It achieves higher temperatures faster, making the best use of your battery power. With no open flame or exposed heating element, and only the hob surface beneath the pan becoming hot, it’s also a safer choice for enclosed spaces like campervans, motorhomes, caravans, boats, and off-grid buildings.

The durable, easy-to-clean A-grade black crystal glass plate integrates touch controls, a digital power display, and essential safety features including over-temperature protection and automatic shut-off when no pan is detected.

Supplied with a UK 3-pin plug, the hob can be powered from mains electricity or a 230V inverter connected to a battery. For full performance, we recommend a pure sinewave inverter rated over 2800W. Alternatively, you can use a lower-rated inverter to operate a single hob when off-grid, and enjoy the full capacity when connected to mains power.
